I initially became interested in photography when I purchased my first digital camera several years ago.  I originally bought it to take photos when I was out with friends at at critical life changing events for a 20-something year old - birthdays and celebrations at the bars!  While I had a lot of fun with it, I was tired of disposable film cameras with their high cost of processing film.  And while digital point and shoot cameras were still pricey, I decided to pull the trigger so I could eliminate film processing costs and send photos to friends without scanning them first.

Not long after that I found myself more and more fascinated with photography.  My camera's primary use went from weekends at the bars with my buddies and moved to taking more artistic shots.

And then, I started to migrate into macro photography.  I was always fascinated when I saw photos of subjects closer than we normally see them, like insects and flowers.

But my progress at taking macro shots was horrible.  I was plagued with bad lighting, unwanted motion blur, odd angles, and every other headache.  And this was even AFTER reading about macro photography.  Does this headache sound familiar to you?
